The Hiring Process
Congratulations on joining the Systems Management and Production Center.
You're not ready for your first day of work until you've been processed in and have your security clearance. In order to accomplish that you'll have to complete the following steps. Delores Newton and Joan Sims will help guide you through the system. Being detail oriented and following directions explicitly will help speed your way though the process.
Step 1:
a. Receive an email from Dr. Gary Maddux with SF86 questionnaire.
b. Receive an email from Delores Newton with a personal data sheet. c. Contact Delores Newton and set up an appointment. |
Step 2:
a. Meet with Delores Newton for first appointment:
1. Bring original birth certificate, a certified copy of birth certificate, or US
passport.
2. Bring completed personal data sheet and SF86 questionnaire.
b. Fill out additional security paperwork.

Step 3:
a. Receive an email from Delores Newton with instructions on how to enter SF86
information. (FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY).
b. Electronically enter SF86 information as directed.c. Notify Delores Newton that you have submitted the SF86. |
Step 4:
a. Your SF86 is processed, this takes 24-48 hours.
b. After processing Delores Newton will review the submitted SF86 form:
1. If she finds problems you'll go to step 4.5 2. If everything is in order you'll go to step 5. |
Step 4.5:
a. Delores Newton sends you an email that your SF86 is not correctly filled out.
b. You will be instructed to make specified corrections and re-enter
sections 16 - 32.
c. Resubmit your SF86 and go back to Step 4. (You obviously want to avoid getting
caught in this loop again - follow instructions carefully).

Step 5:
a. Receive an email from Delores Newton informing you that your SF86 is correct.
b. Contact Delores Newton and set up an appointment to come back in and fill out
more paperwork.
c. Meet with Delores Newton for your second appointment. |
Step 6:
a. Receive an email from Delores Newton informing you that all your paperwork has
been processed and is accepted.
b. Contact Delores Newton and schedule a third appointment for your briefing.c. Meet with Delores Newton for your briefing. |
Step 7:
a. Wait while your placement is determined.
b. Joan Sims will contact you once you are placed. |
Step 8:
a. Receive an email with instructions on how to apply for an AKO account.
b. Apply for an AKO account. c. If your car is not registered in your name fill out this form and get it notarized (or
you won't be able to get a car decal). Yes, really notarized, like with a licensed Notary. |
Step 9:
a. Receive an email from Joan Sims to set up an appointment for a badge.
b. Contact Joan Sims and schedule an appointment. c. Go to appointment and get a badge, CAC, and car decals. |
Step 10:
You are ready for your first day of work.
